Looking for decendants of JAMES GREEN HARDY b. 1795 VA d. 1856 KY. He was the LT Governor of KY 1855-1856. I have a cane that belonged to him and was presented to him in 1856 by a James G Hardy of Sacremento, CA. I assume that may have been his son but I do not know. I am looking for MASON HARDY m. MELINDA GEORGE. They are on the Tyler Co, TX working census along with a Richard Hardy and wife Angeline in 1850. Richard HARDY was 39 and Mason HARDY was 30. Mason and Melinda were listed with a daughter Mary Ann Hardy whom I feel sure is my great-grandmother m. 1859 George Washington RALEY. Their first child - Florence Mildred was born in Falls Co, TX. MATILDA HARDY, born 1796 in Virginia (per census records) and died 1887, East Huntington Twp, Westmoreland County, PA. She married Thomas Fleming (1798-1878) of Fayette County, PA and they raised their family there in Tyrone Township, before moving in 1853 to East Huntington Twp with some adult children moving there too. Searching for parents and siblings of my ggrandmother, SARAH CLEMENTINE "SALLY" HARDY. I have recently found info that shows she may be the d/o ABEL & ASENATH HARDY. It appears that the family came to MS from Tuscaloosa Co, AL. Abel m. 1831 Tuscaloosa, AL to Cecilia Hewbank (prob. Eubank). Cecilia & Asenath could poss. be the same woman. The family is in Choctaw Co, MS 1860 and Yalobusha Co, MS 1870. I cannot find them in 1850 or 188O. Children of Abel & Asenath HARDY: Rebecca, Julia A, Mary A, Edward, Sarah, William, Clarinda, and Jacob. They may have had an older son named John. THOMAS HARDY d. 1832 Lee Co, VA m. Sarah. Children John Stewart b. 1787; Thomas Jumars b. 1791; William B; Stewart b. 1797; Nancy b. 1793; Sarah b. 1801; Samuel E b. 1804; Ewin b. c1805. Some of these children moved to Claiborne Co, TN and later McMinn Co, TN. Does anyone have proof that Thomas HARDY was from Lunenburg Co, VA? William was in Edgefield by 1802 when he purchased 150 acres on the Little Saluda River. He was a charter member of Sardis Baptist Church in 1804. He was the only Hardy mentioned in church records in those early minutes. He later left the church to join the Primitive Baptists.
